Pedant's corner
From the Manchester Evening News, supposedly some kind of newspaper,
"You tell me you came here for a better life for you, your mother and your six children. You yourself in the two years you have been in this country have only worked for two months so you have money coming in from somewhere but I am not told where.“Your circumstances did not put you in any financial straights driving you to commit these offences. Your sole motive in this offence was to get £2,500 and you plainly didn't care that you were abusing the laws.["]

It looks like the sub-editors and/or proofreaders at the MEN, assuming they still employ any, are getting their money for nothing. Whether they are also getting their chicks for free is another matter.
